NBL rest days: verify the schedule before the odds
Count the interval between NBL games without treating rest as an automatic betting signal.
Find both fixtures
Start with the official NBL schedule, recording the team's preceding and upcoming opponents, venues and local tip-off times. A Friday-to-Sunday label alone does not describe the exact hours between starts, especially across time zones. Do not rely on a copied fixture list if a match has been rescheduled.
Then identify the market
Open the upcoming game's head-to-head, line or total. For a bookmaker comparison, match the exact event and selection; for lines and totals, match the number and full-game period too. A quote from the first game is history about another event, not a second offer on the upcoming game.
Limit the conclusion
Rest time may help frame analysis, but the schedule does not reveal a fair price. If the article later tests whether prices differed by rest interval, it needs a prospective sample, bookmaker coverage counts and an explicit calculation. A single game cannot establish a league-wide tendency.
Worked example
Illustration: Team A plays Friday at 19:30 and Sunday at 16:00 in the schedule's stated local times. Book A and Book B both quote Team A +2.5 for Sunday at 1.90 and 1.95. Book B has the better listed payout at that exact line; the rest interval does not explain it.
Illustrative numbers for explaining the calculation. They are not current bookmaker quotes.
Sources and method
Games and prices are hypothetical. This is a schedule-identification method and makes no causal rest-day claim.
